Harlequin Floors - The Red Shoes on Harlequin Studio

The acclaimed, double Olivier award-winning adaptation of the 1948 Powell and Pressburger film has delighted audiences since it premiered in 2016.

The inspired two-act dance narrative tells the story of a ballerina torn between the demands of love and art.

Long term creative collaborator and New Adventures Associate Artist, Lez Brotherston designed the set and costumes for the ballet which features the company’s preferred dance surface – a Harlequin Studio vinyl performance floor.

Harlequin Studio is a hard-wearing vinyl dance floor designed to meet the needs of dancers. The result is a slip-resistant floor that offers dancers added confidence for demanding choreography and movement, widely used as a ballet dance floor, but also a popular choice for many other dance styles.

The firm, lightweight foam backing provides protection and is a great choice when touring.

For loose-lay or permanent installation - an excellent choice as the vinyl performance surface when used in conjunction with a Harlequin sprung floor.
