Traditionally, electrical energy meters are integrated using the Modbus protocol while heat meters use the M-Bus protocol. This suggests that the integrator has two networks to install and commission which increases the complexity and cost of the overall system.
M-Bus makes life easier and reduces cost of installation
An M-Bus master can read the consumption data from electrical energy, heat, gas and water meters as well as various sensors on the network. M-Bus provides greater flexibility of free topology, the reading of more devices and the use of unscreened cable.
Let us introduce our range
Carlo Gavazzi offer a range of electrical meters designed for sub metering applications which includes wired or wireless M-Bus as an option to allow them to be integrated using only one network. Our range of meters includes single phase direct connect, 3-phase direct and 5A CT connect, and are all available in both MID and non-MID versions.
